The Gibran Chair held a symposium on Wednesday 27 March 2019 titled Reshaping the Landscapes of Arab Thought: The Legacies of Kahlil Gibran, Ameen Rihani, and Mikhail Naimy — the three writers at the heart of the Pen Bond of New York, and the ones who did most to remake Arabic prose and poetry in the early twentieth century.
The event was hosted by the George and Lisa Zakhem Kahlil Gibran Chair for Values and Peace at the University of Maryland, then under the directorship of May Rihani. Registration was by RSVP.
